📋 CASE OVERVIEW

Sarah Grace Patrick is on trial in Carroll County, Georgia, charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and firearm possession, one set of counts for each of the two people she is accused of killing: her mother, Kristin Brock, and her stepfather, James Brock, both shot to death in their bed on February 20th, 2025. She has pleaded not guilty to all eight counts. She is presumed innocent, and the case will be decided by a jury before Superior Court Judge Dustin Hightower in the Coweta Judicial Circuit.

Patrick was the one who called 911 that night, after her five-year-old half-sister discovered the bodies and came to tell her. For five months there was no arrest and no named suspect. In that gap, Patrick posted grief content to TikTok and reached out to true-crime creators, building a public following before she was ever charged. On July 8th, 2025, she turned herself in. Prosecutors say they built the case on "mountains of physical and digital evidence" with help from the GBI and FBI, but as of the most recent hearings, no murder weapon has been recovered or publicly tied to her.

The defense retained a forensic neuropsychologist, Dr. Robert Schaefer, within weeks of the arrest, a signal that some form of mental-state defense or mitigation is likely coming, though the defense has not stated on the record which. That evaluation pushed the trial date once already, from January to August 2026, and in July 2026 the defense asked for a second continuance that Justice reports was denied. Jury selection is scheduled to begin August 3rd, 2026.

We are not here to tell you she did it. We are not here to tell you she didn't. We are here to watch the State of Georgia try to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that a girl who called for help is the same girl who created the reason to call for it.
